Job Description
Energy Systems Group (ESG) is seeking an experienced Federal Account Executive. Understanding a customer’s needs and concerns are paramount to any project. Account Executives deal directly with key decision makers and influencers, within our Federal customer base and our Utility partner organizations. The Federal AE will also work with technical representatives and contract specialists to develop a clear understanding of the customer’s needs and concerns.
In order to translate the customer’s wishes into a feasible, installed solution, the Account Executive has to be able to communicate effectively with representatives of the ESG operations group: Performance Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Engineers and Project Managers. The Account Executive skills must vary from technical knowledge to the business operation of the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but not limited to:
• Open communication lines with the assigned customers to understand their needs and concerns and ensure that prospective ESG solutions are in accordance with their goals. • Develop Strategic Assigned Market Sales / Business Plan. • Provide sourcing and lead generation of new customers / opportunities. • Qualify and forecast of opportunities and provide / lead all requirements to secure qualified sales opportunities. • Manage resources to exceed individual sales, revenue and margin plan • Participate in developing the overall ESG USBS marketing and business plans. • Maintain high sales activity with key accounts and large market organizations to provide information and presentations on ESG offerings to potential and existing clients. • Manage sales overhead expenses to ensure that the sales pursued are qualified and lost sale expenses are minimized. • Analyze all energy, operational & maintenance costs that will be incurred by the customer that can be eliminated in a Performance Contract. • Prepare a well-balanced proposal that addresses all of the customer’s needs and concerns. • Develop cash flow proposals based on ESG’s and customer’s needs. • Maintain proper documentation to ensure smooth transition to Operations. • Maintains customer contact throughout installation period to resolve any additional needs and concerns that may arise. • May require coordination with state and federal government regulatory agencies.
Experience Level
• Minimum: Associates Degree (AS) from two-year college with three to five years energy services related experience; or
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (BA) and six to eight years related energy services experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination • Proven track record in executive level sales, preferably in the Federal Energy Services arena. • Proven track record in consultative sales • Proven track record in Energy Services; past successful experience in Utility Energy Services is highly desirable. • Highly effective and successful sales negotiation and closing techniques. • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and business relationships. • Financing and/or leasing knowledge a plus • Travel required

Salary Range
ESG provides an excellent compensation package for this position including: base salary, sales incentives, profit sharing, 401(k), medical/dental insurance coverage and a company car plan.
