Job Description
Energy Systems Group (ESG) is seeking an experienced Landfill Gas Project Developer. The Landfill Gas Project Developer is responsible for identifying, developing and securing successful landfill gas energy projects for clients including Utilities, Waste Companies, Municipalities and Federal facilities. The projects to be developed will include electric power generation, as well as medium and high BTU pipeline quality processed methane.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but not limited to:
Identify, secure and close on new landfill gas based clean energy projects
Organize and lead all aspects of project development from concept through construction, working closely with our project construction, engineering and implementation teams
Evaluate project opportunities and perform financial and market due diligence in order to objectively qualify projects in a timely manner, and make recommendations to management on whether and how to proceed
Lead technical and commercial project interfaces including gas and electric interconnections, environmental permitting and regulatory approvals, working closely with our internal project construction, engineering and implementation team members
Work closely and effectively with team members to develop and manage project execution plans and budgets including cost monitoring; as well as negotiate key project agreements including interconnection, power purchase, energy sales, major vendor and contractor services, and other agreements as required
Maintain strong Company presence at key industry events and trade shows, including doing presentations; represent Company professionally and effectively
Experience Level
• Bachelors (BS) degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience
• Five (5)+years of successful landfill gas or energy project development experience;
• Strong and proven track record in successful generation of new business
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial, technical, environmental and regulatory requirements for clean energy project development
• Proven ability to successfully identify and work with key project decision makers and influencers, to bring projects to completion
• Understanding of asset management, operations and maintenance, and energy marketing and sale functions
• Strong knowledge of natural gas, electricity, carbon and renewable energy markets
• Experience with project and investment financial analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Travel required

Compensation:
ESG provides an excellent compensation package for this position including: base salary, sales incentives, profit sharing, 401(k), medical/dental insurance coverage and a company car plan.
