Job Description

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or the Physical Sciences.
- Must have experience creating project management plans that specify charter, scope, approach, management plans, cost estimates, schedule, milestones and target dates, risk management plans and project change control plans.
- Must have experience using research and statistical techniques.
- Must have experience managing and directing cross-functional teams.

Core Competencies:
- Typically possesses five or more years experience in program operations or contract management.
- Typically possesses two or more years experience providing leadership to project teams.
- Typically possesses five or more years of experience performing technical analysis of programs, products, or services.
- Demonstrated experience using analytic methods and tools to establish the strategic costs, benefits and inherent risks of different scenarios.
- Demonstrated experience managing the evaluation, development and implementation of projects that have moderate financial or operational impact to the Business Unit or Company.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders and upper management.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytical sampling and inferential modeling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles, resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Demonstrated ability to provide functional direction to others.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be customer focused to understand and respond appropriately to clients' business needs.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external personnel.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project and Visio.
- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and present business plans, and manage information.
- Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

COMMENTS: Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position. Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship. The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, however, the position will be moving to Rosemead in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Preferences:
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Business or Economics.
- Project Management Certification.
- Demonstrated understanding of California's integrated resource planning methodology and the role of Energy Efficiency in filling resource needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of utility Energy Efficiency programs and California's Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan.
- Experience with parameter optimization software.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a Strategic Planning Project Manager in the Customer Energy Efficiency and Solar (CEES) Division/Customer Programs and Services (CP&S) Division, located within the Customer Service Business Unit (CSBU) at Southern California Edison (SCE). The successful candidate will manage the evaluation, development and implementation of projects that have moderate financial or operational impact to the Business Unit or Company. The successful candidate will establish strategies and tactics that support the targeted delivery of Energy Efficiency (EE) programs that are in alignment with customer market segments. The successful candidate will assess market conditions, review regulatory decisions and other indicators, develop basic parameters for future EE programs, and make modifications to existing EE programs. The successful candidate will work with Demand Side Management (DSM) Planning, Measurement and Verification, and market researchers to establish market potential for EE programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with Program and Portfolio Managers to devise mid-term strategies in alignment with portfolio goals and California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) objectives. The successful candidate will support regulatory filings for program plans. The successful candidate will develop and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholders and upper management on an ongoing basis, and provide periodic management updates. The successful candidate will manage and direct cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will supervise functional reports. The successful candidate will perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
